Complexion products are kind of my jam, my jelly and my peanut butter. Anything that has “glow” “dewy” or “luminous” written on the package ends up in my shopping cart and probably on my face, too. Case in point: L’Oréal’s Glow Chérie Natural Glow Enhancer.
The Glow Chérie Natural Glow Enhancer is not easy to label. It’s sort of a multi-purpose formula you can use as a primer, as a mix-in for your foundation to make it more luminous, or on its own. The micropigments really are tiny. The shine emulates that sought after lit-from-within look. I got the shade 01 Porcelain Glow, by the way.
Upon application, a first con emerges. That smell. L’Oréal says the product contains a watermelon fragrance but all my nose detects is cherry yoghurt. Luckily, it dissipates quickly.
The difference is subtle, but it’s there. I feel like used on its own, it’s a nice pick me up to make dull skin look fresh and hydrated. Even when applying your foundation over top, that juicy, plump skin effect is still visible. In the photos below I used BAE’s Shake Up Skin Tint, a very liquid formula with a natural finish. Especially on my forehead and nose you can see the added luminosity.
“Natural Glow Enhancer” is the perfect description for this product. I mostly love mixing it in with my foundation, which gives a similar effect as layering it, but you skip a step so you can snooze 30 more seconds in the morning.
And that’s the look! (Always with a wayward strand of hair, haha.) For my taste, this is not the one-and-done product L’Oréal likes to market it as. On the French website it is listed under BB and CC creams, which I really don’t think it is. There’s no colour pigment in the formula, only sheen. That said, I like it. I don’t think I’d buy it again because I can live without it, but I’ll continue to use it and enjoy the effect. All in all, a good purchase!
The Glow Chérie Natural Glow Enhancer is available in 4 shades (depending on your country) of which Porcelain Glow is the lightest. The product’s recommended retail price is € 14,90.
